Islands

There are 24 large and small islands in the vicinity of Ayvalık. These islands are reachable by boat and boast various brilliant bays and coves where you can swim. The vast majority of bays strike swimming enthusiasts with admiration by wonderful beaches and crystal-clear sea. Located in Patricia bay, Güvercin Island is renowned to be a sacred place hosting a monestry which attracts people as one of the rare buildings coming from the Middle Ages.

Some other islands are: Tavuk Island, Maden Island, Çıplak Island, Kara Island, Kamış Island, Güneş Island, Yelken Island, Yalnız Island, Hasır Island, Yuvarlak Island, Tımarhane Island, Kız Island, Yumurta Island ..

PRIVATE BOAT TOUR

You can realize your dreams of trekking, picnicking, swimming and diving on such beautiful inlets with a privately owned family boat named "Murat" and therefore have another unforgettable memory.

Now, you bet that you will enjoy this boat trip very much. You can rent this  boat, which can carry a minimum of 2 and maximum of 6 people, and you can tour freely all day long accompanied by Mr. Teoman (owner and captain of the boat). If you wish, you can picnic on any island you set foot on.

Also, your captain Mr. Teoman is a scuba diving and  fish spearing specialist  and will be glad to help you. If you seek more professional scuba diving, daily diving sessions are organized by a larger boat called Yakamoz. Please, inform us while making a reservation since scuba diving requires more detailed preparation. It is more convenient to form group programs consisting of 4-8 people for a tour.

HISTORICAL REMAINS ON ISLANDS

Taşlı Monestary & Tımarhane Island: Situated in the mouth of Çamlık Bay, Tımarhane Island is an immense rock?, on the bottom of which lies a monastary. Its name comes from its miracles. Legands say derenged people who set foot on the island in shackles return to shore in total sane condition.

It is believed that the worn-out construction on Tavuk Island belongs to the ruins of a small church. Additionally, there are old-time ruins on some other islands.

Apart from its historical and cultural diversity, Ayvalık is one of the most popular towns for sea-side lovers people with its wonderful and diverse beauty of undersea .
